A retrospective Collaboration of Poetry and Watercolours
It is believed that all life began in the sea, and from there developed into the complex life forms we recognize today. We share an intricate relationship with other sentient beings and are often surprised that their lives continue without our input, or in spite of it. Trees outlive us, some lasting many centuries, and if we take the time wander among these remarkable life forms, we recognize a power that has affected mankind since early times. Birds and animals are part of this complex jigsaw of life, as are the lakes, streams, rivers, and the tidal movements of the sea. These poems explore many such interactions.
The watercolours by Koya Clare Mathias which compliment some of these poems, bring together poetry and art in a literary setting.
